One website promotion tool which packs a punch is the humble press release. There are quite a few online press release distribution services which you can submit a press release to for free, although the paid distribution services promise better reach.

Every time I issue a press release, my website exposure shoots up in the search engines. It's so effective that I now schedule press releases monthly. Of course, writing a good keyword-rich release is important, and all the rules for choosing the right keywords apply. Always make sure that you do your research with a good keyword research program before you start writing. It's all about working smart.
