The Best Kind of Website Promotion

The Best Kind of Website Promotion

Finally, the stock market seens to be stabilising. It's been a long, scary ride for more than three weeks since the end of July. I've never seen the market plunge like this before, and for such a prolonged period. It really distracted me from website promotion. Many people dream of making money online through online trading, but this requires a cool temperament, discipline, and of course money. That's why only a handful manage to succeed this way, while most people just fall into debt.

I was glued to my computer screen almost daily, watching the market go belly-up. It was very stressful. I admit I neglected my websites, but this week I received a lovely testimonial from a customer of my butterfly jewelry website, Silver Butterfly Jewelry, which reminded me that there are other ways to make money online, and motivated me to re-new my website promotion efforts. This lady had purchased two pieces of jewelry from my website on separate occasions, and she wrote to say that she was delighted with the quality of my products as well as the high level of service provided. The second time she made a purchase, we had just sold the pendant she wanted. Rather than have her wait too long for new stocks to arrive, we had offered her an upgrade to more expensive jewelry. We believe in doing whatever we can to keep our customers happy.

So now I have another glowing testimonial to put on my website. That's the best kind of website promotion ever!

Creative Website Promotion

Creative Website Promotion

You've probably heard it too many times to count -optimize your website for search engines, make sure your website is content-rich, use pay per click, use e-mail blasts, have a newsletter, get relevant links, contribute articles, submit press releases, etc. Website promotion gets tiring, doesn't it? Especially when your website seems to barely move in the page ranks and traffic continues to be pathetic. So what else can you do?

Recently, I discovered a rather radical way to quickly get ranked high organically, without having to do the usual slog and paying an arm and a leg for links and traffic. It's a really ingenuous method which I'll be trying out shortly. If it works, I'll share it with you. The internet is dynamic so we need to keep learning new website promotion methods. Time for old dogs to learn new tricks!

Responsible Internet Marketing

Responsible Internet Marketing

I had a shock today when I discovered that the real estate agent handling the sale of a residence which I purchased almost two momths ago did not submit the legal documents to the relevant authorities as he had claimed he did. When he did finally submit the option to purchase form it was at the eleventh hour, just hours before the option would have expired. This jerk has almost caused me to lose my new home. Because of him, I will now take ownership of the property two months late. I'm particularly mad at this agent because he's been lying to me all along, assuring me that everything was in order when it wasn't.

Don't you just hate irresponsible and dishonest vendors? I sure do. I break my back trying to serve my clients well, so I think that vendors who cheat and lie should be burnt at the stake. But have you noticed how many con-artists there are in internet marketing? It makes me sick. For every professional internet marketer, there must be a thousand internet marketers who are unprofessional, and even dishonest.

Build up a good reputation for having integrity and providing good service, and your business will grow. When you short-change your customers, you short-change yourself. It's much better to under-promise and over-deliver than to over-sell and under-deliver, or even not deliver at all. Think about this when you work on website promotion and other internet marketing activities. Think about the long-term. Don't do to others what you don't want them to do to you.

Website Promotion Fundamentals

Website Promotion Basics

When I started exploring how to make money online, I surfed the internet daily to learn whatever I could on the subject. I bought books and courses, and I once even spent $20,000 on an all-in-one e-commerce package which came complete with websites, video tutorials and personal coaching.

On hindsight, I realize that high-pressure selling tactics convinced me to part with waayyy too much money in my quest to learn how to earn an income on the internet, as well as effective website promotion. Now I know that there are other good programmes available which provide useful tips to help you make money online - and just for the price of a simple dinner for two. If I knew then what I know today I could have saved a bundle of money.

Sadly, when I was starting out just a few years ago, there was nobody I could turn to for guidance. I didn't know anybody who had any experience with internet marketing or any form of making money online. Ironically, people now ask me for advice on how to make money online, such as by starting online businesses. I've spent a lot of time guiding wannabe internet entrepreneurs for free, and it's a real drain on my time and resources. Now, rather than re-inventing the wheel, I suggest that they pick up a couple of reasonably-priced e-books which will give them a good overall view of different ways to make money online, including practical advice on how to get started, how to generate a website and basic website promotion techniques, such as keyword search strategies.

One program which I came across recently even packs in a free website, together with website promotion tips and trick. It advocates developing multiple streams of income, which is really good advice. Some examples are:
- Developing your own products (whether tangible or intangible)
- Marketing other people's products through affiliate marketing
- Participating for cash in surveys and various consumer activities (like shopping or dining)
- Earning from advertisements clicked on your website (and you don't even have to source those ads)

The program describes itself as a simple, turnkey marketing system which helps to create recurring income, and it is backed by 20 years of marketing strategies. It is packed with handy information and resources, such as where to find products for sale, without even having to carry inventory. To quote, "you never make, stock, ship, or handle anything. You don't need to buy anything, process any orders, or even deliver them." If this sounds impossible, it isn't. I have several online stores myself which I don't have to stock inventory for, and my margins are pretty good.

This multiple streams of income system gives you sufficient information to start making an income online. It even teaches you how to promote your website and get traffic to your site for free. Is there a guide to ebay success as well? Of course. There's also information on where to find the right keywords for your internet marketing - absolutely essential if you want to make serious money on the internet.

Lots of useful tips and tricks are packed into this system which has apparently helped its purchasers to make money online immediately. One guy said that he earned $300 on his first day of putting the system into action. That's a great start.

Do these methods work? Speaking from my own online experience, yes they do. However, some methods work better than others and not all methods will suit everybody. You have to decide what's best for yourself. A point to note is that creating multiple streams of online income is often a futile exercise without an understanding of effective website promotion, so this system is useful as a crash course introduction to ways of making money online as well as basic website promotion methods and SEO strategies, It will provide you with enough information and tools (like the free website and website promotion strategies) to start making multiple streams of revenue on the internet. A good investment for the price of just a modest dinner for two, as it'll teach you how to afford many fancy dinners to come.

Check out this guide to creating multiple streams of income if you'd like something comprehensive and yet bite-sized, and ready to put into action.

Healthy Computer Habits

Healthy Computer Habits

Do you ever get tired of staring at the computer screen, with your hands curled over the keyboard? I do. My arms will ache after a while, my eyesight gets blurry, my back starts to ache and so does my neck. I try to make myself get up from my desk regularly for a stretch, and to get a drink or perhaps gaze out the window. For eye health, it's important to look long distance frequently. And you don't want to get DVT, do you? Computer addicts have been killed by this blood-clotting disease.

Website promotion is tiring and lonely work. It's easy to become so absorbed that you forget to have a real life, with real social relationships, and real-world activities like sports or going to concerts.

If you haven't already done so, schedule time each day for working on your websites as well as time for your personal life. You'll probably enjoy website promotion even more.

Website Promotion Magic

Website Promotion Magic

Is there such a thing as a magic bullet for promoting websites? Some will say 'yes' - it's called Google AdWords. If you're not careful, however, this kind of online advertising can burn up money really fast.

Personally, I prefer to have my websites rank well organically. Several things need to be done to achieve this, including using keywords strategically and building lots of good content around these keywords or keyword phrases and, of course, uploading content regularly. Blogs, articles and press releases are also great website promotion methods, but they can be a pain if you don't like to write. If that's your problem, there are many freelance writers out there who can help you out. Just do a search on the web.

Links are helpful too, but they take time to build up. Be selective about the ones you tie up with. If you can add at least one new one to your website everyday, that would be great. I have to admit that I'm lazy about building up my links directory. I prefer to get one-way links through writing blogs, articles and press releases, and yakking in forums.

Don't waste your money on quick fixes like e-mail blasting. Most people are spammed to death these days and are quick to delete strange or unwelome e-mail messages. For this reason, automatically-generated email messages, or auto-responder messages, are quickly losing their effectiveness.

Website promotion is a lot like gardening. You've got to water, fertilise, weed and prune regularly. It takes work, but the end result will be a nice, strong healthy plant.
