WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
I attended a gathering of online merchants recently. Many of them were newbies, and hadn't even set up their first website. I found out that quite a few had invested a considerable amount of money on internet marketing programs. Some had even attended internet marketing bootcamps run by some of the web's most successful internet marketers.
Some of these 'newbies' started exploring internet marketing almost two years ago, and had yet to try to apply anything they had learnt. No websites. Not a semblance of an affiliate program. Not even a blog. A threesome told me that they had purchased a very expensive online store package but hadn't made a start on their websites, They asked if I and my husband, Andrew, would walk them through the program step by step.
Now, Andrew and I are always happy to help anyone deserving. But our time is very valuable, so we had to ascertain if the three newbies had done their basic homework. We asked them if they had gone through the video tutorials supplied. Had they also read the materials? Had they tried calling the chatline for help? There was also a forum for online merchants such as themselves; had they ever checked that out?
The response from the internet marketing newbies? Stony silence. They refused to answer our queries. We haven't heard from them since.
Internet marketing is like any business. If you're going to succeed in it, you can't be lazy. You've got to do your groundwork and be prepared to constantly learn., and you need to apply what you've learned. Copious note-taking and head knowledge alone is useless.
Nobody owes you a living. If you're going to realize that dream of financial independence and personal freedom, you've got to roll up your sleeves and get to work! It doesn't matter if your first website looks dumb. What's important is that you get going and keep improving. Success in internet marketing is certainly achievable, but not for those who don't get off their butts.
